Personal News

  • I had a problem with one of my car tires (it was going to cost me $120), but my dad worked his magic, got me a new tire under warranty, and it only cost me $20.
  • I’m officially obsessed with using an air-fryer; I don’t want to return the one I have to work. 😥
  • Scramble strudels are addicting AF, send help.

Mood: Content. I had soup for lunch, and it was nice and filling.
Obsession: Finding my groove with blogging again. You guys have no idea how much I’ve missed it and how frustrating it’s been to be so uninspired to post.

Personal News

  • I’ve decided that I’m going to start using tentative TBRs again.
  • I’m attempting for my first LDR (wish me luck!) and I like (ok, maybe love) him very much.
  • I am a proud member of a DND campaign that’s made up of 83% girls. (My character is a badass fire elemental-type character.
  • I think I’m slowly kicking my reading slump!

  • *knock on wood* I think I’ve found my groove and a good way to reintroduce myself to blogging regularly again.
  • Thanks to both Regina and Marie, I’ve discovered an awesome new method to keep track of my posts. (So many bright, pretty colors!)
  • My sister showed me the draft of my new logo…GUYS. IT’S SO STINKING CUTE.
  • I don’t want to brag or anything, but I’ve been killing it with my blog-hopping game. Not for recognition or anything, just inspiration and reading what others are writing. 🙂

Currently Watching: Game of Thrones (still, I stopped for a while).
Favorite Tea: Don’t have one right now.
Favorite Food: Quinoa. It’s super random, but I’m obsessed with it right now.
App: Best Fiends. I can’t stop playing it.
Weather: HOT.
Mood: Kinda bummed, I was supposed to visit my friend at school this weekend and had to cancel because I had issues with one of my tires.
Obsession: Incense. I’m currently burning one and it smells like a bouquet of flowers. 😀

Personal News

  • I interviewed at a library a couple weeks ago, and I’m hoping with all my heart that I got the job.
  • I finished my library classes, and while I really enjoyed what I learned they consumed my life this summer. It got kind of annoying, actually.
  • That being said, the fall semester starts up in a couple weeks and I’m still not registered for my classes. (This is for reasons that are out of my hands for the moment.)
  • I’m randomly thinking about becoming a vegetarian; I say random because this has come out of nowhere. As it is, I don’t eat a ton of meat outside of chicken.
  • My sister left for Maine today. I’m so jealous of her (and I’m going to miss her a ton)!
  • My FairyLoot box made it aaaaaaall the way to the US just to get lost by the USPS. Go figure.
  • Still haven’t received my first box from Best Damn Book Box – she’s had personal stuff go down and first-time subscribers are low on the priority list when it comes to the shipment waves. Cool.

  • We’re halfway to 200 followers already! Yay! Thank you so much for everyone who clicked follow, even when I wasn’t posting regularly.
  • I’m back in full force! (At least until school starts. I think I’ll be able to manage though.)

Favorite Tea: Don’t have one right now. I’m crushed!
Favorite Food: Raspberries. Always. Now that they’re in season, I’m in heaven.
App: Pinterest. I found this super delicious recipe for a strawberry cheesecake salad that I made for Memorial Day.
Weather: Warm and sunny. Yay! We’ve had some dreary weather lately, but the sun is starting to shine!
Mood: Happy, but warm. We reached 90 degrees this weekend!
Obsession: MONQ. It’s an aromatherapy device that allows you to inhale the essential oils. I’m still doing research, but so far it sounds legit.

I’ve been absent on twitter, so I’m being a bit selfish this week. Anissa at FairyLoot retweeted my tweet about my unboxing post. *Cue fangirling* I love when I get to interact not only with fellow bloggers, but the people who put so much love into their subscriptions boxes (this has happened with Muse Monthly and Fantasy & Sci-Fi Books too!)

Personal News

  • I started my library classes last week, and so far I’m loving it!
    • One of my assignments was to find a librarian that I can stay in contact with over the course of the class (and most likely program).
    • I found one, and he’s awesome. I think he’s just as excited to work with me as I am to work with him.
  • I love having three day weekends. It gives me more time to binge watch Game of Thrones. 😉
  • My friend and I have made plans to go to a bar in the city called Headquarters Beercade. I’ve never been there, and have been bugging her to go. Ironically, her brother wanted to go for his birthday, so they invited me to tag along (this is in’t until July though).
  • I’ve started meditating and I’ve found that it helps to keep me calm and grounded. I can get a little uptight/stressed, so it’s nice to have a way to help me relieve that, that isn’t sleeping.

Weather: BEAUTIFUL. The weather is finally warming up and is sunny. We basically skipped spring and went right into summer. 😛
Mood: Relieved – now that classes are done, I get three weeks off without homework to worry about.
Obsession: Just being able to relax right now. I’m relishing in the whole lot of nothing that I have to do right now. 😀

Personal News

(Not-so-fun) Fun fact, I’ve been in college for longer than I’d like to admit, and due to various circumstances, I still haven’t gotten my associate’s degree. As of this fall, I will finally be done with it! Yay! I’m stupidly excited, even though I’ve got another 4 years to go in order to get my master’s degree in LIS (Library Information Sciences). I’m now also thinking about continuing with Mass Communication because I think the two would go hand-in-hand quite nicely.

Also, if you haven’t heard, I’m done with classes for the semester and get to enjoy 20 glorious days of not having any homework to worry about. Then classes pick up on June 6th and I’ll be double timing with two library science classes. Either way, I’m incredibly excited because I think I’ve finally found my calling (apart from this blog, of course).

Wow, you’d think that after not doing one of these posts in a while, I’d have more to update you guys on, but nope. Just school and work. Mundane stuff, my friends.

Happy Mother’s Day!

I hope you’re having a fantastic day spending time with your mother/grandmother/motherly figure in your life and/or if you are a mom! Today my mom just wanted to relax and avoid the crowds, so we did a majority of our celebrating yesterday. (No worries, this post is pre-written and scheduled, so I’m not shirking any of my daughterly duties. Though don’t feel bad for sitting here and reading this either, I’m sure I”ll be lurking around at some point. lol) Anyway, that being said, welcome to  Catching Up with Carrie! Catching Up with Carrie # 4 || 5/1/16

Happy May! I still cannot believe that this year is flying by as fast as it is. Anyway, as you can see from the title of this post, it’s time for another Catching Up with Carrie. I’m throwing around the idea of making this a bi-weekly thing instead of doing one every week. Sometimes, like this week for example, I really don’t have too much to share. I’m not sure, I’ll get back to you guys on that one. (If you have any suggestions, I’m open to them!)

Good morning my lovely readers! I hope you had/are having a lovely weekend. I’m trying not think about the fact that’s already over. Today I want to try something new (which you may notice is an upcoming theme for me. ;P) and get a little more personal by doing a weekly update. Now, there is a meme called the Sunday Post, but I’m not going to officially follow that, mainly because I don’t feel like linking up and doing everything that comes along with it.
