Monday Morning Cuppa | Leah

Happy Monday everyone (or at least you know…close to it, since it is still a Monday)! I finally have a Monday Morning Cuppa for you. This is a feature I created where I take a tea and write about a character it reminds me of in addition to a mini review.

This Week’s Tea:

10344dt01var0012445-bi-1.579Tea: Birthday Cake – DAVIDsTEA
Character: Leah | Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda
Reasoning: Whenever it’s someone’s birthday within Simon’s friend group, Leah always insists on getting them a full sheet cake. You only get a piece if you’re wearing a birthday hat (you know, the cone-shaped ones you might’ve worn as a kid). Not only is this tea called birthday cake, but it tastes pretty darn close to one as well (there are even sprinkles and freeze-dried balls of ice cream). I thought about saying this tea reminded me of Simon himself, but I thought that finding and mentioning a tea that tastes like oreos would fit better (although I’m pretty sure it doesn’t exist). Regardless, I think it fits the book well.

The Review:

What I like: I love just about everything about this tea. It’s a beautiful caramel-colored tea with colorful sprinkles mixed in. With risk of sounding cliche, it looks like a party in your infuser, and I like the fact that it takes little to no sweetener.

What I don’t like: Since this is considered a “dessert” tea, it’s incredibly sweet. Although I like that it takes little to no sweetener, you need to be careful when sweetening it. If you get too heavy handed, the tea can become too sweet. Although I guess this could happen with any tea. That’s the only thing I don’t like about it, which isn’t much of an argument. 😛

Consensus: I adore this tea, and I recommend it to anyone that’ll listen, although I believe that it’s an acquired taste since it’s so sweet and may not be for everyone. If you ever get the chance, please try this tea and let me know what you think!
